John Mulligan

Mulligan, John – February 1, 1928 – November 8, 2025

In his quiet and unassuming way, John left us to be reunited with his parents, sister and brothers on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Welcoming John will be his beloved mother Ellen, father Lawrence, sister Mary and brothers Lawrence and Frank.

As the last of his generation, he leaves the family with his legacy of humour, quick wit and his immense fondness for the music of yesteryear.

John could sing anything and did. An ordinary conversation would evolve into a melodic rendition of whatever tune was wafting through his mind. Never at a loss for words, John would regale us with stories which were enjoyed by young and not so young alike. His great, great nieces and nephews were as entertained by him as he was by them.

John is survived by his nieces Kathy (Bob) Tuttle, Maureen (Mike) Trampleasure, and nephew Gerald (Danielle) Mulligan, great nieces and many great, great nieces and nephews. We wish to thank and acknowledge Bob for his devotion to John over these last many years as he assumed the lion’s share of John’s care prior to and after his relocation to Mississauga Extendicare. At Extendicare, John was cared for by competent and compassionate staff. Their commitment to John was exemplary. John was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held at Wards Funeral Home one hour prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church scheduled for 12 o’clock noon on Friday, November 14, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
