John MacDowall

Peacefully with his wife Georgina of 61 years at his side. Born in Peterborough to Florence and Alexander MacDowall. Raised in Toronto with his loving sister Jean and two brothers Bob and Ron. Veteran of WW2 Gunner with the Royal Canadian Artillery, September 1942 to November 1945. Discharged at age 23 due to demobilization.

Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Defence Medal, 1939-1945 Star, France & German Star. Formerly with DeHavilland Aircraft, DuBois Chemical of Toronto, retired 1992. Will be sadly missed by Anne & Stuart, Dean & Lorraine, Graham & Michelle and grandchildren Lauren, Steven, Brian, Lianne, Kathleen and Alex.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Wednesday 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday September 23rd at 12noon. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice will be kindly accepted.
