We are saddened to announce the passing of John Edward George McClelland on February 19, 2016. Predeceased by his beloved wife Annora, he is survived by his children Scott (Liz), Allen (Carol), Glenn (Caryl) and Bruce (Jan); his grandchildren Patrick, Megan, Sarah, John, Katie, Ryan, Courtney, Connor, Brooke, Blake, and his great-grandson Jake DeMello.
Jack was raised near High Park, Toronto and worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia in a number of cities across Ontario. Eventually, he and Annora settled in Brampton and Jack founded McClelland Insurance Brokers.
Jack was an active supporter and coach of minor sports in Brampton. Many former players remember him as a great motivator with many colourful sayings. He was a good story teller with a unique sense of humour. Jack was also an avid golfer, curler and bridge player.
Jack and Annora were blessed with many lasting friendships through their involvement with Brampton minor sports and The Brampton Golf Club. They also enjoyed many years with family and friends at their vacation home at Bay Point, Panama City, Florida.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” 52 Main Street South, (Hwy. 10) Brampton on Thursday February 25, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9pm.
