Peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s at King City Lodge on Friday January 11th, 2013 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Sheila for 55 years. Loving father of Malcolm and his wife Arlene, Susan and her husband Dave Zacchigna of Nobleton, and predeceased by his eldest child Tim. Cherished grandchildren Stephanie and Andrew. Loving brother of Joan and her husband Mike Howard, and the late brother Pat and sister Maureen. Survived by his brother-in-law Don Soisson. John will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff of the King City Lodge for all their exceptional care and compassion.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Sunday, January 13th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church 14485 Jane Street in King City on Monday, January 14th, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
