Joao Ferreira

In loving memory of João Galvao Ferreira born on June 22, 1942, in Sao Miguel, Portugal. In his 84th year, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at William Osler Hospital in Brampton, Ontario.

He was a beloved husband to Antonieta, a devoted father to Paulo (Lucy), Emanuel (Trish) and Steve (Kristen), as well as a proud grandfather (Vãvo) to Clarissa, Matthew and Jack. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with those he loved.

He’ll be remembered for his warm smile, his humour, and the wisdom and encouragement he freely shared with everyone around him. João will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward funeral home, 52 Main St. S., Brampton, on Monday, August 3rd, 2026 between the hours of 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The service will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 101 Malta Ave., Brampton. It will be followed by the interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery at 6933 Tomken Rd., Mississauga. If desired, donations can be made to William Osler ACE/Dementia Ward, Brampton.
