Jean Ballantyne (Fraser)

December 26, 1937 — June 12, 2024

Jean Ballantyne (Fraser)

Jean Fraser (Ballantyne) was a loving Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, and friend.

Jean left us peacefully, Wednesday June 12th 2024, at the Bennet Center in Georgetown, with family by her side.

Jean was 86 years old, Jean is survived by Son Rob (Susan), Daughters Lori, and Karen (Randy), grandchildren, Kyle, Austin, Helena, Veronica, William and Justin.

Jean was predeceased by husbands Bob Ballantyne and Vance Fraser, parents William and Lillian Eadie, sister Thelma, and brother-in-law John Dortona, niece Linda Dortona, Aunt Betty Fleming, and longtime friend Margaret (Mrs H) Hodson.

Jean was a retiree of Kodak Canada after 20+ years.

Jean was the kind of person who never sat down at a party and was always making sure you felt welcome and had food and drink.

Jean was a world traveler who cruised to many countries and loved new people on her adventures.

Jean will always be remembered by the staff at the Bennet Centre as Juke Box Jeanne, and for her warm smile and her bright laughter.

Jean loved music from the big band era, and Jean loved to dance. The kitchen radio was always on in the house playing music. Sundays, being cleaning day, Jean played albums from Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, and Engelbert Humperdinck, singing along to every song.

Jean was always there for family and friends, the first to help clean up and the last to leave every occasion.

Jean will be remembered for her strength, perseverance, and the kindness she bestowed on everyone she met.
