Nina (Jamesina) Love Hamilton (nee Mackie) passed away peacefully in her sleep at Brampton Civic Hospital palliative care on July 7th at 91 years of age. Beloved wife of Albert Hamilton, since August 18th 1945 and loving mother of Doreen (Bob) Myers, Stratford, Marion (Jack) Robertson, Vancouver, and Linda (Len) Moreau, Brampton. Also survived by grandchildren Carol Colyn – Sanford, Craig Myers, Paul (Sarah) Robertson, Jeremy (Ginette) Moreau, Angela Robertson, Yvonne Moreau and great grandchildren Amanda, Paisley, Murron, Ewan, Zander and Matthew. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Nina was a pioneer as member of the 301 Battery, 93rd Searchlight Regiment, Royal Artillery … Britain’s first all-female regiment manning the radar and searchlight operations defending London during World War II. Her same pioneer spirit brought her family to Canada in 1967 where her family was her pride and joy. Until a few years ago Nina was an active member of the Knightsbridge Seniors line dancing and choir who enjoyed entertaining at seniors homes.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 10th, 7-9 pm at Ward Funeral Home, “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South, Brampton. Funeral service will be held Wednesday July 11th, 2012 at 1:30 pm in the chapel.
