James 'Jim' Thompson

Thompson, James (Jim) George.

On May 9, 2025, at the age of 89, Jim Thompson passed away with family by his side. He was loved as a Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, G.G, and friend. He will forever be missed by his family. Daughter, Terrie (Campbell) and son, Tim. Grandfather to Matt (Amanda and Brady), Amanda (Kam and Mackenzie), Chris (Megan), Kaitie, Sydnie, Raechel, Mckenna, Spencer, and Seth. Also missing him are his sister Barb (Airdre, Alberta) and sisters-in-law Margo, Shirley, Joyce, brother-in-law John, and many nephews. He is pre-deceased by his wife Nadine, his parents George and Marg, and his brothers Wayne and Gord. Jim was born and raised in Brampton where he proudly lived and worked his whole life. He met the love of his life, Nadine Swackhamer, who came to Brampton from Hamilton to be a teacher. They met while public skating, with the eyes of her Grade 5 students watching and saying, ''Miss, we saw you skating with Jimmy Thompson". Jim was often a man of few words, but enthusiastically supported all of his family in their endeavours. He was caring and dependable, and always had a quick smile and warm embrace. He lived a long and full life.

We thank the Amica Peel Village staff for their compassion, kindness and the excellent care he received.

Rest in peace, Jim.
