It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Peter Carberry on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born in Scotland, Jim moved to Canada with his family at the age of one. He was a proud Canadian, officially becoming a citizen in September 2024.
James, Jim, Jimmy, Carbz, Dad, or Uncle Jim, whichever name you knew him by, he will be remembered for his loyalty, laughter, and a man who always had the back of those he loved.
Jim loved rugby, hockey, and golf often finding close friendships in those shared interests. He was most at home on a camp trip with his dear friends by the water with a fishing rod in hand.
Jim will be deeply missed by his son Dawson (Sara), daughter Megan (Darcy), brother John (Stephanie), nephew Jude and niece Fiona, his Aunt Sylvia and cousin David (Judy). Predeceased by his parents Roberta and James, his sister Michele and Uncle Adam.
A celebration of Jim's life will take place from 1-5pm on Saturday, November 29th, at the Brampton Rugby Club (7605 Kennedy Rd S, Brampton). Sentiments will be spoken at 2pm by the family. All are invited to share cherished memories and stories, as the family gathers to reminisce and rejoice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Additionally, donations in memory of Jim can be made to the Bethell Hospice.
