The family announces with deep sadness the passing of Jim Vrieling, on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Brampton, Ontario, at the age of 87.

Jim was the beloved husband of Willemina for 57 wonderful years, and a loving father and father-in-law to Robert, Eric, Bruce, and Mark and Trish. He was a cherished Opa to Melissa and Ethan, Justin and Melissa, Jonas and Abigail, Abigail, Madison, and Elisha, and a loving Great Opa to Chelsey, Andrew, and Judah.

He was a dear brother to John, Tineke, Thea, and Koos.

Born on October 18, 1938, in Groningen, The Netherlands, Jim was known for his handyman skills and helpful nature. He greatly enjoyed his wife’s cooking, took pride in his gardens, and found joy in growing and selling his water lilies. Above all, he had a deep love for his family and his dogs.

Jim trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation and found his comfort and hope in God’s faithful promises.
