Born in Fresno, California, Randall graduated from the University of Akron in 1950. He joined the United States Air Force as a 2nd lieutenant and served 2&1/2 years in the Korean War. He retired in 1953 with the rank of Captain. In 1956 Randall graduated from the University of Toronto following post graduate studies in hospital administration. During his career he worked in a number of healthcare administrative positions at various hospitals including the Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio and at the Toronto General Hospital where he served in the position of Administrator. In 1971 he joined the Ministry of Health of Ontario where he served in several senior positions until his retirement.
He is predeceased by his parents J.P. and Miriam (Luke) Hagerman, his sister Ruth Trussel and brothers Gordon and Philip Hagerman. Randall loved his ancestral cottage on Otter Lake, near Parry Sound, where throughout his life he spent as much time as possible, including some 4 months this past summer. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved boating. Despite the considerable constraints imposed by his progressive heart disease, Randall lived a life of integrity, gave more than he took and dearly loved his family and friends. He was a kind and gentle person with a marvelous sense of humor.

Visitation will be at Ward Funeral Home at 4671 Highway #7 in Woodbridge on Thursday Nov.3rd from 6 to 9pm.
