Irene Wooning

Born on March 18th, 1928, passed away on November 7th, 2011 at Humber River Regional Hospital- Church Site in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Hubert for 55 years. Loving mother of Anne Wooning (Ted Mitchell) and John (Jane). Cherished grandma of Brian, Janice, Kelly, Andrew and great granddaughter Shannon. Dear sister of Ron (Shirley) Parr and the late Ken Parr. Irene’s passion for caring for people started with her nursing career at Women’s College Hospital and continued during her retirement as a volunteer with the Etobicoke General Hospital Auxiliary.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, 25St. Phillip’s Road, Weston on Thursday at 10a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment to follow the reception at Holy Cross Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
