With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ines Sciammarella on July 12, 2023. Born on August 2, 1929, in Bucita, Italy, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love.

Ines was a woman of strength beyond expectation, a true leader always there for her family. She was a dedicated and hard worker who always kept her spirits high. Ines, not unlike many Italian women of her generation, was the matriarch of her household, a talented cook, a skilled seamstress, and an impeccable homemaker. She was a devoted and loving wife to Francesco, and together they shared a lifetime of happiness and cherished memories.

Ines and Francesco were blessed with six children, Ernestina (Enzo), Biagio (Anna), Ettore, Franco (Joanne), Mary (Dino) & Joseph (Antonietta). From their first steps to their proudest achievements, she was always at their side to support them. Her unwavering love and support were a constant source of support. In addition to being a wonderful mother, Ines also reveled in the role of being a devoted Nonna. Her cherished grandchildren Danny (Allison), Andrea (John), Roberto (Karolina), Davide (Daniela), Vanessa, Amanda (Joe), Daniel, Luca (Heather), Christopher (Nicoletta) meant the world to her, bringing countless smiles and immeasurable joy to her life. A very proud great-grandmother of Maiya, Mikayla, Mateo, Julian, Sebastian, Noah, Serena & Mason who will always lovingly remember their Bisnonna.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Ward Funeral Home, Woodbridge Chapel 4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral mass to be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Church, 8500 Islington Ave., Woodbridge on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Ines’ memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
