Passed away April 2, 2021 at Humber Hospital. Beloved Brother to Patricia (Pat) Murphy and Rae Kowk, uncle to Brian Murphy (Karen), Angela Murphy (Joe), Sandra Nancarrow and Andrea Kowk. Great uncle to Conor and Kaleigh Murphy, Kathleen Sachs (Rory) Rebecca Mecrate (Daniel) and Brenda Herteis (Nancarrow) and even greater uncle to Sebastian and Christian Sachs. Pre- deceased by his Mom Ethel Paterson and his dad George Paterson, nephew Kevin, Brother in law Rick Kowk, and nephew Rob Nancarrow. Ian had three great loves, Music, Mainly Jazz music. Anyone who wanted to see him could find him at local clubs listening to Toronto’s amazing Jazz performances with his many friends. Ian also loved billiards and belonged to a club winning countless awards. The third and greatest of his loves was his bird Koko, whom he had for 37 years and taught him his favourite shows theme song, The Andy Griffith Show. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Weston Chapel” 2035 Weston Road, Toronto (N. of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Friday August 20th, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
