It is with great sadness that the family of Howard Thorpe announces his passing on Friday, June 15,2012 at the age of 87 years. Howard was a Veteran of WWII and he was a loyal member of the local ANAF for many years. He marched in many parades in his finest blazer adorned with the many medals he had earned in the war. Howard, best known to his friends as “Tiger” was the loving husband of the late Joan Christine (nee Tutty-2003) for over 50 years and will be remembered fondly by his children Don (Paula), Dorothy, Douglas, Debbie (Rob) and Dale (Cynthia). Cherished grandpa of Thatcher, Callan, Blair (Jennie), Jenna, Kaley, Amanda, Jeffrey, Kenneth, Christina, Sarah, Mitchell and great-grandpa of Aidan. Howard leaves behind his sister Marjory Hebb and many nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his two brothers Gordon and Donald and five sisters Dorothy, Margaret, Kae, Jean and Geraldine. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, (north of Lawrence Ave.) Toronto on Wednesday June 20th, 2012 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel in memory of Howard on Thursday, June 21st at 10am. Interment will follow in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery.
