It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hillary June LeMercier Tedoldi (nee DuQuesnay) on May 20, 2026, at St. Michael’s Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on June 17, 1946, in St Andrews, Jamaica, to Michael and Berniece Margaret “Peggy” LeMercier DuQuesnay, Hillary lived a life defined by compassion, faith, strength, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Hillary immigrated to Canada at the age of 17, where she began her career at Volkswagon in Toronto. Later she worked for Canadian Pacific Airlines in Vancouver, where she met her husband, Guido. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, living in British Columbia and Italy before eventually settling in Ontario.
Hillary was the beloved wife of Guido Tedoldi and a devoted mother to Tina Pannunzio and Tony Tedoldi. She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Jon Pannunzio and Trish Tedoldi, and an incredibly proud and loving grandmother to Bella, Marco, and Cruz, who brought endless joy and pride to her life. Hillary will be lovingly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Mary DuQuesnay, their children Thérèse and Michael, as well as many dear relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth, laughter, and generosity. She will also be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her adored grand dogs, Ryder and Simba.
Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, Hillary lived each day with kindness, generosity, optimism, grace, and elegance. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone around her feel valued, welcomed, and loved. Whether through conversation, encouragement, or simply her presence, Hillary had a gift of making people feel better and always saw the good in others while approaching life with positivity, kindness, and compassion.
Hillary was a lady in every sense of the word — graceful, elegant, and always impeccably put together — yet she also possessed a wonderfully adventurous spirit. She could pick up and leave on a moment’s notice, never quite knowing where the next adventure might lead. While she was known for her immaculate appearance and poise, she was equally comfortable rolling up her sleeves and working alongside her family on the many home and cottage projects they tackled together over the years. Some of Hillary’s happiest memories were made at the family cottage on Manitoulin Island, where weekends and summers were spent surrounded by family, friends, laughter, and love.
Professionally, Hillary dedicated more than three decades of service to Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in Toronto. Through continued education, hard work, and perseverance, she rose through the organization to ultimately become Chief Administrative Officer, a leadership position she held for many years. She was widely respected and admired for her exceptional leadership, professionalism, fairness, and remarkable management skills. Her nurturing nature, loyalty to staff, and genuine care for people earned her the affectionate nickname “Ms. OACETT.” She leaves behind a lasting legacy of integrity, mentorship, and heartfelt leadership that will never be forgotten.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Hillary was the heart of her family. She was a phenomenal cook who delighted in feeding the people she loved and found great joy in bringing family together. Every meal she prepared was made with love and brought comfort and enjoyment to those around her. Some of her most memorable dishes included lasagna, malfatti, homemade pizza, banana bread, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, and her famous biscotti — just a few of the many recipes that will forever be remembered and deeply missed. Hillary had a great love for gardening and a special appreciation for bright, cheerful colours that gave her pleasure. She found peace and happiness in tending to her garden, and her care and attention reflected the same warmth and beauty she brought into the lives of those around her.
Selfless in every sense of the word, Hillary consistently put others before herself and lived her life focused on giving rather than receiving, finding happiness in caring for those around her. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and role model — truly one of a kind.
Hillary’s love, wisdom, strength, and beautiful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral and Celebration of Life details will be announced at a later date.
