Rev Henry C. Verschuren
Rev. Hendrikus (Henry) C. Verschuren, November 7 1932-July 30 2021, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his eldest child with him. He is pre-deceased by his wife of over 60 years, Lucia (Lucy) R. Verschuren (nee Verkooijen) May 20 1929-July 29 2016. Survived by sons and daughters, Cathy, Leo, Chris, Henry, Lucy, Conny and Peter, and their respective partners, grandchildren, and great-grand children. Rev. Verschuren, or Deacon Henry as he preferred to be called, was an ordained as a Permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church in 1980, working initially with St. Mary’s Church Brampton and then as the Resident Catholic Pastor of Holland Christian Homes. He also was instrumental in his role as Director of Parks for the City of Brampton, and his legacy includes several significant contributions, both secular and religious, to the Community of Brampton. He is currently resting at Ward Funeral Home – Brampton Chapel, and funeral services will be at St. Mary’s Church, Brampton, on Thursday August 5 2021 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also at St Mary’s Church. A private family internment will take place after the service.
