Helen Troiani ‘nee Henderson’
It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Troiani announces her peaceful passing at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, surrounded by her family, on June 30, 2023. Helen was the 12th of 13 children born in Scotland, on January 29, 1949, to parents William & Mary Henderson.
Beloved wife to her husband of 44 years, Gerry, who has been by her side as she battled various health problems. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, her extended family as well as Gerry’s family in both Canada & abroad.
In Scotland Helen studied to be a nurse and was able to work for 5 years in this role. She traveled to Canada at the age of 25, following in her brother’s footsteps. It was here that she met Gerry with whom she built a beautiful life.
Her laugh was so pure, and she will be remembered as a natural comedian, who never quite realized how funny she was. A true lady, with a loving & giving nature. She loved to travel her family often vacationed in Spain when she was just a young girl. In later years she and her husband would enjoy their trips to both Florida & Italy.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. David’s Parish (2601 Major MacKenzie Dr. W., Maple) on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
