Suddenly taken from us, on Tuesday January 14, 2014, after a long and brave struggle with pulmonary hypertension. By her side was her loving husband of 50 years, Bob. Loving Mama to her girls, Karen (Meeykal Nuur) and Kristine (David Skogg). Grandmother to Taylor- Anne, Ayan, and Brooke. Dear sister to Jack (Sharon) and Michael (Isabel). Helen will be dearly missed by her entire family and all her friends. Born on April 26, 1940 to parents Betty and John Walton, and raised in Woodbridge, Ontario. Helen had a passion and dedication for teaching children in both the Toronto and York Boards of Education. Helen enjoyed gardening, golfing, curling, reading, bridge, crosswords and the family cottage in Temagami. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Toronto General Hospital - Respirology Department.
A Celebration of Helen’s Life will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, 905-851-9100, on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
