Balbinot, Helen (Elena)
June 16th, 1936 – November 8th, 2012

Helen Balbinot passed away with her loving family at her side on November 8th, 2012 in Brampton, Ontario after a brave battle with cancer at the age of 76.

Helen was born in Celerina/ Schlarigna Switzerland, the daughter of Giuseppe Battaglia and Elena Pelosi.

Dearly loved wife of Rino Balbinot for 53 years and devoted mother of Laura and Claudio Balbinot.

Cherished and proud nonna of Cristina Bianchi, Alexander Balbinot, Amanda Bianchi and Monika Balbinot.

She will be dearly missed by her son-in-law Peter Bianchi and daughter-in-law Gerlinde Balbinot along with her brother-in-law Angelo and sister-in-law Gigetta and her nephews, Tony and Leo along with her nieces, Grazia, Annarita, Regula and Patricia.

She is survived by her elder sister, Gina Engel of Switzerland.

She will always be remembered by her positive outlook and her pleasant and cheerful smile. After working at Humber College for over 20 years, she retired and spent her time between the sunny shores of Wasaga Beach and the company of great friends at the Veneto Centre.

She also cherished the time she spent helping raise her four grandchildren.... especially enjoying the raucous that accompanied each gathering.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) 905-851-9100 on Sunday from 1-4 & 7-9p.m. and Monday from 4-7p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 13th, 2012 at 9:30a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Church 150 St. Francis Ave., Woodbridge.
