It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our matriarch Giuseppina Mazza ‘nee Marsella’. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Etobicoke General Hospital. Born in Campodimele in the province of Latina, Italy, on November 5, 1953, to parents Albino & Alessandra Marsella.

Giuseppina Mazza was the beloved wife of Giuseppe ‘Mike’ for 51 years. Cherished mother of Giovanna (Frank) & Melissa (Steve). Proud grandmother Joshua, Noah, Aidan & Hailey. Dear sister of Maria, Gerardo, Giovanni (Silvana), Franco (Maria Grazia), Pasquale (Leda), Marguerita (Mario), Domenico & the late Tomasso. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews both in Canada and abroad.

She showed strength in the face of adversity, she was determined to do what was right for her family, she was protective of her grandchildren, she led with love and kindness in all she did. A true fashionista, she was always dressed immaculately, in beautiful Italian classic designs. Always cooking for her family who especially loved her fish salad and penne. She loved to work in her garden, where she tended to her beautiful flowers.

She was a gracious and kind woman with a vast circle of friends and acquaintances. A loving wife, mother & grandmother. Giuseppina’s eyes lit up most for her grandchildren. There are no words to describe her immeasurable love for them. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her friendly personality was contagious to everyone she met.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital.
