Giuseppe Gatti

Giuseppe Gatti passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2021 at the age of 89 surrounded by the love of his family. Devoted and loving husband of 55 years of Anna; proud father of Michael (Tammy), John (Luisa), Laura (John) and Mark (Laura); beloved nonno of Kayla, Brandon, Allison, Daniela, Melissa, Sofia, Luca, Sara and Andrew. Beppi will be sadly missed by his surviving siblings and by his many nieces and nephews. While grateful that he has been relieved of his suffering, Giuseppe will remain in the hearts of his family and friends in Canada and in Italy.

Fondly remembered for his big dimples and warm smile, kind heart, willingness to lend a hand, and strong work ethic. Giuseppe was a true artisan of wine making, woodworking and meat curing. He loved the simplicities of life: tending to his garden, watching his children and grandchildren enjoy their family farm. His greatest joy was spending time with relatives and friends at their annual family reunion. Giuseppe will be sadly missed.

Due to the restrictions, a private service will be held at Ward Funeral Home (Woodbridge) on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. When possible a celebration of life will be held. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Humber River Hospital and the palliative team of the Temmy Latner Centre for the exceptional care that was provided.

In accordance with the February 22, 2021 directives from the Municipality of York Region, Services can be held within the funeral home, accommodating no more individuals than 30% occupancy of our visitation rooms and/or Chapel. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone is mandatory as per the Provincial Regulations.
