In Loving Memory of Giovanni Grando
May 5, 1937 – December 15, 2025
With his dear sister beside him, our beloved Giovanni passed peacefully into God’s loving embrace at the age of 88 at Baycrest Palliative Care, Toronto. Grazia comforted her dear brother with great love and affection.
With humble beginnings in Tiezzo, Italy, where Giovanni grew up on the family farm, this gentle man was Blessed with patience, love and humility, qualities that are seldom found today.
With many of God’s Blessings bestowed upon him, at the early age of 16, Giovanni was already displaying excellent skillsets in draftsmanship evidenced by his detailed drawing sketches of church stone arches and intricate ink designs.
These skillsets later served him well as he progressed his trade to an accomplished carpenter.
Giovanni’s love and care of cars was quite evident as he would maintain them for 20+ years, who could forget his classic - blue Grand Torino!
Above everything else, Giovanni’s adoration for family members was top priority. His only nephew Tullio (Patrizia) and only niece Clara (Roy), were direct recipients of his endearing love and affection.
His grandnephews & nieces in Andreas, Luca, Nadia (Michael) and Sonia (Andrew), provided him with great joy and contentment.
Above all else, nothing could put a greater smile on Giovanni’s face than his great grandnephews & nieces:
Sofia, Caleb and Tobias along with Elsie, Kate and Leah.
Equally loved back in his hometown in Italy, are his cousins: Tonin (Tina), Giliana (Gianni) and Claudio (Clelia).
We love you Giovanni and we miss you – it’s never a goodbye, but, until we meet again!
May God Bless!
