In Loving Memory of Giovanna Garbin
With heartfelt sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Giovanna Garbin (née Vieceli) on March 2, 2026, at the beautiful age of 87.
Giovanna was born on October 24, 1938, in Fonzaso, Belluno, Italy, to Pasquale and Angelina Vieceli. She was a loving sister to Vittorio (predeceased), Luisa, Ida, and Luigi, and a proud sister-in-law to (Maria Garbin and Jackie Vieceli), and loving Zia to nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
Giovanna is now reunited with her beloved husband, Guido, whom she married on March 12, 1960. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and tradition. She leaves behind her loving children Anna, Carlo (Tina), and Vanni (Natasha), and cherished daughters-in-law Tina and Natasha … who all remember her fondly and miss her dearly. She was a proud and devoted Nonna to Dustin, Sean (Shanna), Corey, and Lexi, each of whom brought her great joy.
Giovanna will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle personality, her quick wit and sense of humour, and her love of being around people. She really cherished the time spent with her dear friends and neighbours, whether participating in church events and bus trips, sharing a simple afternoon espresso or enjoying a lunch together filled with lively chatter and infectious laughter.
Family meant everything to Giovanna. She took great pride in hosting weekly family dinners that brought everyone together around her table. Those evenings, filled with food, laughter, and stories, created special family memories, and even the neighbours enjoyed a take home portion …
She also found tremendous joy as a dedicated and proud member of the St. Jude’s Parish choir for over 40 years where she shared her love of singing and music. As an avid gardener, she delighted in tending to her beautiful flowers with care and pride.
Giovanna will be remembered most for the love she shared with her family and friends. Her home was always welcoming, her table was always full, and her presence brought warmth to those around her, creating loving forever memories for her beloved family.
Her love, strength, and the traditions she passed down will continue to live on in her children and grandchildren for generations to come … and is a testament to her life well lived …
If desired, memorial donations may be made in Giovanna’s Memory to a charity of your choice.
