Surrounded by the love of her family, Giovanna passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, in her 90th year.

Born in Supino, Frosinone, Italy to Domenico & Rosa De Meis on November 13, 1935.

In 1958, Giovanna married Pierino, son of Alfredo and Maria D’Arolfi. Pierino left for Canada shortly after they wed. By 1959, Giovanna left her parents and siblings behind with courage in her heart to board a ship towards Canada. With her newborn, Silvia in her arms, she joined her husband Pierino in Toronto, to dream of a better future for their young family. They expanded their family to include their son, Joseph and their daughter, Ivana.

Beloved and devoted wife of the late Pierino. Proud mom of Silvia (Joseph Oliva), Joseph ( Helga), and Ivana (Attilio Grande). Cherished and adored Nonna to Dani, Giuliana ( Giuseppe), Steven (Paula), Olivia (David), David (Mia), Loreto, and Pierino, and bis-Nonna to Perry, with one great grandchild on the way. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and all her extended family, and friends both near and far.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at St. Andrew's Parish (2574 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke) at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
