Giacomo Simonetta

Simonetta, Giacomo – after a long and courageous battle with illness, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 27, 2013 in his 80th year. God called Giacomo to be with him and is finally relieved of his suffering. He leaves his loving wife, Annununziata, and his children Tina and Joe/Giuseppe (Antonietta). Giacomo's greatest joy and love came from the sight, hugs and kisses from his granddaughters, Cristina and Jaclin. He leaves his sister Agata (Domenic), and his brothers, Domenico (in Toronto), and Antonio (Caterina) and Beniamino (Maddalena) in Italy. He was predeceased by his sisters Maria and Caterina. He was born in Filogaso, Calabria, to Giuseppe and Agata. He loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing and enjoyed woodworking, carving and jig-saw and crossword puzzles among other hobbies.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, Woodbridge, on Sunday from 6-9 p.m and Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge.
