Peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital with family by her side on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Martin (1987). Loving mother of John van den Hoek (Manja), Betty Prior (Dave 2012), Lloyd van den Hoek (Barb), Mart van den Hoek (Debbie), Karen Gerdes (Georg), Doug van den Hoek (Carol), Tom van den Hoek (Nancy), Trudy Hunt (Graham), Pat Hall (Iain), and Ray van den Hoek (Carol). She will be fondly remembered by her twenty six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Survived by her twin sister Bep and sister Clementine in Holland. Truus will be missed by her many family members and friends. Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home in Brampton on Monday, February 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 14 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Brampton Cemetery will follow. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated by the family.
