George Wilson

Peacefully, on Thursday, October 15th, 2026, at the age of 94.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara Wilson (July 9, 2024), with whom he shared more than 60 years of marriage. Cherished father of Karen Wilson Moore (Mike Moore), Susan Wilson and Michelle Wilson. Predeceased by his son David (2011), and survived by David’s wife, Anny-Sandra Hamel. Devoted Grandpa to his four granddaughters, Marissa, Megan, Arianne and Kaitlyn. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.

Born in Trenton, George was predeceased by his brother Murray Wilson (2011) and his sister Anita Wilson (2024).

George enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a chartered accountant, with roles including auditor for the City of Brampton and the Peel Board of Education, among many others throughout his professional life. A man of steady faith, he valued his Grace United Church community, its services and the many social activities in which he participated.

George and Barbara shared a love of family and adventure and treasured their time at the family cottage. George enjoyed an active lifestyle, particularly walking his beloved dogs, cross-country skiing, golfing and curling. Even during difficult times, George had a remarkable ability to see the positive side of life. Above all, he felt a deep responsibility to provide for his family and was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren and their accomplishments.

Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home (Brampton Chapel), 52 Main Street South, Brampton, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held at Grace United Church, 156 Main Street North, Brampton, on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 2700 Kingston Road, Scarborough.
