George Francis Watson
February 18, 1927 – May 11, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George at the age of 84.
George was a devoted father and grandfather, loving brother, good friend and neighbour and a gentleman. His dedication to family, wise counsel and unconditional love will be remembered by his children and grandchildren, Christopher of Romania/Toronto and sons David and Michael, Cathryne, husband Patrick and sons Pierce, Thomas and Brendan of Oakville and Barry, wife Susanne, and their children Ivy, Aidan and Enya of Smithers, BC. Will be missed by his brother Paul of Preston, England, Carmel and Stewart of Caledon, friends and neighbours.
Born in Manchester, England, he served his country for 2 years in the Royal Navy in the Mediterranean. Later, he and his wife Mary (nee Martin of Roscommon Ireland, deceased) immigrated to Canada in 1957 where he worked for 32 years with Ontario Hydro in the design and development of power stations.
Friends and family are welcome at Ward Funeral Home 109 Reynolds St. (905-849-3221) Oakville for visitation on Sunday May 15th, 2011 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Eulogy 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St. Oakville, on Tuesday May 17th at 10:00 am. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster.
