SCHOEN, Fritz George

It is with great sadness that Martina Schoneveld and Angela Varghese announce the passing of their father on April 3, 2013 in his 91st year after a brief illness with cancer. He is survived by his wife Ingeborg, son-in-law Harry and his beloved grandchildren Cora, Aaron Schoneveld, Noah, Joshua, Elijah and Neha Varghese.

Dad (Opa) will be fondly remembered for the lovely stories of his life: Growing up in Germany, his time in the Africa Korp during WWII and as a POW in Texas. He took great pride in the ownership of his cars and his passion for driving extended to 20 years at National Grocers as a transport driver. Sunday outings to Wasaga Beach and an annual trip in the summer will also be remembered by his daughters. He enjoyed following world politics and keeping up his weekly bowling average with friends kept him happy and active during his life. Cremation has taken place as per the Family’s wishes.
