SAITO, George

Peacefully on December 10, 2011 at the age of 96 in Toronto. Born in Cumberland, B.C. of Japanese ancestry, he graduated from UBC in Engineering and enjoyed a successful 32 year career at Canadian General Electric. Loving husband of the late Hanako “Florence” Saito (nee Naruse). Devoted father of Ron (Pat), Arlene Jones (Jim), and Neil (Vickey). Cherished grandfather of Andrew (Kelly), Jenny, Katy, Jacqueline, Nicholas, and Aisha. Great-grandfather of Dylan and Morgan. Survived by his sisters Frances and Elsie, and by his brothers Tom (Betty) and Masagi “Charlie”. Predeceased by his sisters Yuri and Mary and his brother Victor. George will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Greenborough Community Church (2000 Keele St., Toronto) on Saturday December 17, 2011 at 11am. (visitation at 10:30am). Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
