George Michailidis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of George Michailidis on September 2, 2024 in his 69th year. George was born in Florina, Greece to parents Dimitri and Theodora with whom he is now reunited. He is also now reunited with his younger brother John (Beth) and will be greatly missed by his youngest brother Chris (Pina) with whom he shared a special bond.

George was a loving uncle to Elizabeth, Laura (Dylan), Christina, Diana and Wesley.

When George was 7 years old, his family immigrated to Canada where his parents established their roots in Toronto. Even as a young man, George worked hard in his parent’s restaurant. In his later years, George developed a love for woodworking and will be remembered for his unique and creative skills. Anyone that knew George, knew that he had a great sense of humour, and a deep love for classic rock music, he enjoyed many concerts. George lived a quiet life and enjoyed the simple things that brought him much joy.

George will be greatly missed by all his friends and the staff at Alpha Omega House.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service to take place at 12:00 p.m. at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church (1 Brookhaven Drive, North York). Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
