George Doulis, age 92, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on April 13, 2026.

George was born June 12, 1933 in the mountain town of Monastiraki, Greece. At the age of 13, during the economic hardship of the Greek depression, he left home to find work in Athens. As a teenager, he supported himself through a series of demanding and practical jobs, including work in a funeral home—early experiences that shaped his work ethic and independence.

In 1962, George met Hariklia Christakos in Athens. They married and immigrated to Canada in 1965, beginning a new life with limited resources but strong determination. After arriving in Canada, George took on physically demanding work as a high‑rise window washer in Montreal, and working as a house painter. He continued working steadily throughout his life. He was known for his willingness to take on difficult jobs and for working hard to provide for his family. George worked consistently throughout his adult life and remained committed to earning an honest living. His years of labour reflected a lifetime defined by perseverance, responsibility, and self‑reliance.

George was predeceased by four brothers and sisters, Thanasis, Anastasios, Marina, and Eleni. He is survived by his wife, Hariklia; his son Efstathios (Steve) Doulis, his wife Jody, and their children Marina, Nick, and Sam; and his son Dimitrios (Jim) Doulis and grandson Miguel.
