In Loving Memory of George Caltsoudas

A beloved husband, grandfather, and respected member of the Greek and Canadian communities, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 100.

Born in Galatini, Greece, George lived a life marked by resilience, hard work, and deep devotion to his family and heritage. As a young man, he served bravely in the Greek military and fought in the Greek Civil War. In Greece, he worked as a home builder, a trade he took great pride in. He then immigrated to Canada in search of a better life.

George was known for his love of woodworking, his joy in driving, and his strong moral character. He was an honorable man — a devoted husband, a great father, and a proud grandfather. Although he endured the heartbreaking loss of his son Constantine, he carried himself with strength, dignity, and quiet perseverance.

He is survived by his loving wife Dimitra, and his two cherished grandchildren George and Katerina, and many others who knew and respected him. A faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Church, George carried his faith and traditions with pride throughout his life.

George’s legacy of love, hard work, and integrity will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his memory be eternal.
