George Athens

Passed away on Sunday January 21, 2024 at the age of 33. Devoted husband and best friend of Melissa of 8 wonderful years. Proud father of Daniel Tom and Olive Ingrid. Loving son of Mary and stepfather Jeff. Dear brother of Koulie (Gabriella). Cherished grandson of Eleni and the late Kyriakos, the late George and the late Christina. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. George has been reunited with his father Tom.

George loved to dance. He belonged to a Greek traditional dance group, which would dress in the traditional garb and perform for the many onlookers.  He had a passion for house music, both behind the decks and on the dancefloor.  He attended music festivals, world class events and dedicated countless hours immersing himself in the music. It was on the dancefloor that George met his beautiful wife.

George was an incredible partner and an amazing father. Spending time with Melissa and the children were his happiest and proudest moments. Melissa and George enjoyed traveling. Their travels took them to the UK, Amsterdam, Ibiza Spain, Costa Rica and to Mexico on many occasions.

George loved cars and motorcycles.  He had a passion for driving and working on them.  This passion led him on a career path as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.  Recently he had set out on a new career path as a small business owner of DeepTek Powerwash & Maintenance.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Monday January 29, 2024 from 3-5p.m. Celebration of life will begin at 5 p.m. with family eulogies to follow. Cremation will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations to Big Brother, Big Sisters of Toronto would be appreciated.
