Frederick Watkin

WATKIN, Major Frederick Arnold BA, BD - (Salvation Army Officer- R) – peacefully on October 23rd in his 89th year. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth, his children Joan (David), Lyn (Ken), Sharon (Max), Jay and Fred (Pam), 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his eldest daughter Beth. Fred was in the Royal Canadian Air Force and later became a Salvation Army Officer for 63 years. He taught at the SA Training College on Bayview for ten years. His passion was preaching and teaching the Word of God. He will be missed by his family, friends, former cadets , colleagues and parishioners. Friends may visit at the Ward Funeral Home, Weston Chapel, 2035 Weston Road, Weston, on Friday from 7 – 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Salvation Army Agincourt Temple on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. If desired donations in Fred’s honour may be made to the Salvation Army “Gifts of Hope”.
