Frank Castellano

Frank Castellano

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday May 24, 2024 at the age of 87. Devoted husband of Teresa for 64 wonderful years. Proud father of the late Filippo, Elena (Lou Ferraz) and the late Anna. Cherished Nonno of Julie (John) and Robert (Sarah). Loving Bisnonno of Sophia. He will be sadly missed by his family, siblings, sister in-laws and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews and many long time friends. Frank has been reunited with his beautiful children Filippo and Anna.

Born in Cianciana Agrigento, Sicily to parents Filippo and Filippa.

Frank had a love for dancing and at the age of 19 he decided to take dancing lessons.  From this moment on, his passion for Latin music and dance was something he enjoyed throughout his entire life.

Frank and Teresa met by corresponding back and forth for some time before meeting in Italy and then marrying.

Frank was a supervisor for St. Mary Cement in the brick division and worked for the company for 40 years.

Together Frank and Teresa worked hard to build a life for themselves and their family.  Frank was a handyman and at one point they built their own home and working together they completed all the finishes. These skills would be shared with family and friends for any home renovations.

Their home  was built on 3 acres. One acre was dedicated to Frank’s garden, his other passion. His garden yielded such an abundance of vegetables that he would share with everyone. Also, in the fall, Frank along with family would make tomato sauce and wine the traditional way.

Frank and Teresa were snowbirds, heading to their home in Largo Florida from late fall to early spring.  This was a dream that Frank worked hard to achieve for retirement.  For many years, each July, they would take their grandchildren Julie and Robert to Florida to spend time enjoying the swimming pools, beaches and shops.  Lou and Elena also joined each summer to enjoy the weather, fun excursions and having summer fun together as a family.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday May 29, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church 8500 Islington Ave., Woodbridge (just south of Langstaff Rd.). Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated.
