Francisco “Xico” Ribeiro De Sales, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 19th, 2018, at the age of 61. Francisco was born on January 24th, 1957 in Altares, Terceira, Azores, to José and Filomena (Ribeiro) De Sales. He immigrated with his parents to Toronto at 20 years of age, and soon after began his successful 40-year career as a framer. He married Jesuina Dias André in 1981, and had two children. In 1994, he built a beautiful home in Caledon where they lived for the next 25 years. Francisco was loved by many, for his contagious sense of humour and kind heart. He showed courage and strength during a year of complicated health issues, often defying the odds against him, but sadly lost his battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 36 years, Jessie; his beloved children, Matthew and Patricia, and his son-in-law, Michael; his sister, Jackie (Alvaro) and his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, José and Filomena, his older brother, José, and his father-in-law, Jesuino André. Family and friends are welcome to a visitation on Sunday, April 22nd, 2018, 5 – 9 PM, at Ward Funeral Home in Brampton 52 Main Street South, Brampton, L6W 2C5. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 23rd, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 101 Malta Avenue, Brampton, L6Y 4C8 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, L5T 1N4. Francisco’s family would like to thank his many doctors, surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists and personal support workers, especially at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph.
