Obituary

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we say a heart felt goodbye to our mom, Florence Anita Smith (nee Gaetano) as she is reunited with her husband, John George Smith.

Born to parents Anthony and Filomena on August 2, 1924, in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Florence lived a beautiful life filled with love, kindness and devotion to her family.

She found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her home was always welcoming, offering a place of warmth, comfort, hugs and joy.  It was there that she created countless memories for the family she loved.

She is predeceased by her husband John, her sisters Mary Jolicoeur, Diane Bumbaco, Gae Sitarz and her brother Enzo Gaetano.  She is survived by her sister Lucy Johnson.

She will forever be remembered by her children Karl and Karen, son-in-law William, daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Terilyn, Trisha (Kyle), Turner (Elaine), Connor, Matthew and Jessica; great grandchildren Lindsay, Scotlyn and Callum as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her unconditional love.

Our family wishes to express our sincerest thanks to all the caregivers and staff at Age Care Wenleigh on Leanne Blvd. in Mississauga.  Their kindness and compassionate care for our mother will always be appreciated.

Though she has left this world, the love she always gave and the legacy she created through her family will live on.  She will always be deeply missed, forever remembered and lovingly cherished in our hearts.

If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
