Fausto Stamegna

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fausto Stamegna on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born in the town of Itri, in Italy. Although He loved his homeland, Fausto moved to Canada and called this country home. He loved Canada, even in winter.

Fausto was a beloved husband to Elda, for 56 wonderful years. Together, they brought up their three beautiful boys. Fausto was a devoted father to Mario (and wife, Bernadette), Michael, Matthew (and wife, Lisa). Fausto was the proud Nonno of Diana, who he adored.

Fausto was a welder, learning the trade from his father in Italy. In Canada, he worked for Boeing Aircraft as a sealer for over 30 years. He was always dedicated to his work and loved his job.

Fausto was also very active in the community. He donated his time to charity work for the Catholic organization, Società Unita, as well as volunteering at the Woodbridge Horticultural Society. Fausto was honoured to be a founding member of the Itri Canadian Recreation Club. He loved sports, especially baseball. For many years, he coached softball and later became an umpire for the Woodbridge Softball Association. He also enjoyed curling and bowling and won several trophies. At home, he was handy with his tools, and he occupied his mind with puzzles and word searches.

Fausto was a dependable, hardworking and giving person. He always found time to help others. Fausto created life-long memories with family and friends, and he is loved by many. Fausto Stamegna will truly be missed."

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8-9 a.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 17, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church 300 Ansley Grove Rd., Woodbridge. Interment at Westminster Cemetery.
