Evelyn Frain

Evelyn Frain (nee Saunders)
October 23, 1923 - October 20, 2012

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn on October 20, 2012 at Wyndham Manor in Oakville, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Archie; loving mother of Sandra, Douglas (Tracy), and Barbara (Leigh). Much-loved Nana to Gwendolen (Andy), Marisa, Dylan, Spencer, Benjamin, and Cole; and Great-Nana to little Noah.

Born in Terrebonne, Quebec, Evelyn led a full and vibrant life, living in Colombia for 12 years and in various cities in Canada, including Ottawa for 30 years. She was much admired for the courage and conviction with which she tackled many noble causes despite challenging illnesses.

Compassion and humour were traits Evelyn exuded, and her generosity was endless. She was a passionate Unitarian and was unceasingly devoted to making the world a better place for suffering children, animals, refugees, minorities, the homeless, and many, many others. She will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905-844-3221) on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
