Evelina Michelina Pizzoferrato

March 11, 1930 – March 5, 2026

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Evelina “Lina” Michelina Pizzoferrato announce her peaceful passing on March 5, 2026, just days before her 96th birthday.

Born on March 11, 1930, in Pratola Peligna, Italy, Lina carried with her the strength, determination, and deep family values that would guide her throughout her life. Known to family and friends simply as “Lina,” she was a woman whose quiet resilience and unwavering dedication shaped the lives of those around her.

As a devoted single mother, Lina worked tirelessly to provide for her only son, Joe. Through long days of hard work as a chef and many personal sacrifices, she ensured he had opportunities and a life better than the one she had known growing up. Her perseverance, courage, and unconditional love built a legacy that will continue through the generations that followed.

Lina had a generous heart and showed her love in the ways she knew best—through her cooking and the warmth of her home. Family gatherings were often centred around the meals she prepared with care and pride, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She also found joy in her garden, lovingly tending to her plants and flowers. In her younger years, she enjoyed travelling, especially to places by the sea, as the beach was one of her favourite places to be.

More than anything, Lina will be remembered for her strength, her quiet perseverance through life’s challenges, and the deep love she held for her family.

She leaves behind her beloved son, Joe Pizzoferrato, and daughter-in-law, Carmy Pizzoferrato; her cherished grandchildren, Adrian (Jackie Pizzoferrato) and Alanna (Eric Slawson); and her five adored great-grandchildren, Dante, Leila, Michela, Isabel, and Mattea, who were a continuing source of pride and joy in her life.

Lina’s family will honour her life with a private ceremony where she will be laid to rest surrounded by those who loved her most.

Expressions of sympathy may be made through donations in Lina’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
