Balatinecz, Toni
Our Toni has closed her beautiful eyes for their final time on Monday February 4, 2013. Loving wife of John for 49 wonderful years. Proud mother of Ted (Linda) and the late Tonnah. Cherished Grandmother of Jeff, Kelly and Kia. “The sweet lady” will be sadly missed by her great granddaughter Cloey and by god-daughters Natalie and Shannon, and by god-sons Tibi , Alex, Peter and Andrew. Toni will be fondly remembered by her Sister in law Pat, and her many nieces and nephews in the USA. The memory of Toni’s caring and cheerful personality will be treasured by her former students and colleagues in the Faculty of Forestry, University of Toronto. Toni and John travelled the world visiting family and friends in Hungary and many other places. John’s family and friends in Hungary “adopted” her from the first moment she set foot in that country in1966. Toni’s beautiful smile and loving personality will be greatly missed and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
And Toni speaks to us in this Native American Prayer:
“I give you this one thought to keep, I am with you still—I do not sleep;
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow;
I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the sweet uplifting rush
Of quiet birds of circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone—I am with you still in each new dawn.”
We love you Toni with our hearts and souls, for ever and one more day! Farewell to you dearest, and a million thanks for enriching us with your life, your smile, beauty, kindness and love; your family and friends.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (just west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, 905-851-9100, on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. A Celebration of Toni’s life will be held in the chapel on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 am. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated by the family.
