It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Eric Holt in his 80th year, on June 12th, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital - Hamilton Health Sciences, after a prolonged illness. Beloved Husband to Dorothy Holt (deceased) married for 62 years. Son of deceased parents Eric and Dorothy Holt. Brother of Arnold Holt deceased (Brenda-deceased), Dorothy White (Walter), David Holt deceased, Roy Holt deceased (Christine), and Susan Hameed deceased (Abdul-deceased). Loving father of Stephen Holt deceased (Yvette), David Holt (Susan), Peter Holt (Mary-deceased), and Joanne Larkin (Keith). Adoring Grandad of nine grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Sarah, Jacob (Megan), Eric (Montana), Trevor, Melissa, Maddison (Kristian) and Nathan. Eric and Dorothy made a life-changing decision to move their young family to Canada from Manchester, England in 1974 to provide a future of many different opportunities for their children to experience. Eric was proud of his work as an Electrician at Inglis and Vertis and enjoyed a 40-year career, making many life-long friends. Outside of work, Eric supported his children and grandchildren in many sports and activities. This passion led to his involvement in St. Catherine’s Jr. A Lacrosse organization. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying long walks with his many German Shepherds and his Shih Tzu Charlie. Eric’s greatest joy was his family and celebrating their accomplishments. We extend our gratitude to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for the love and care they provided over the past two years. Flowers can be sent to Ward Funeral Homes at Weston (Toronto) Chapel or donations to St. Peter’s Hospital. We will greatly miss his strength, kindness and of course his beautiful singing voice. We will hold you in our hearts forever.
