Emilio Cesario

Emilio Cesario, a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and nonno departed this world on Monday, April 15, 2024. He leaves a legacy of love and unwavering dedication to his family.

Emilio was born on February 22, 1936, in San Fili, Cosenza in Italy to Francesco and Francesca Cesario. He was one of seven children and began working at an early age to help support his family. In 1960 he arrived in Canada with his young bride, Teresa. Emilio and Teresa made great sacrifices and faced many challenges as new immigrants to Canada. They shared 57 years of marriage until Teresa’s passing in 2017. Together they raised four children Franca (Craig), the late Pina (Clem), Linda (John) and Joe (Linda). Emilio experienced great joy and pride when surrounded by his grandchildren Tina, Tess, Isabella, Anthony, Mario, Emma, Emilio, Bianca and Marco.

Emilio worked as a carpenter in the construction business for over 30 years. He loved watching Italian soccer. He took great pride in his garden, growing tomatoes, beans, zucchini, lettuce and hot peppers. He also enjoyed making sausages and capocollo. We will miss his famous pasta with tomato sauce.

Emilio will be sadly missed by all who knew him. We loved our papa and nonno. May he rest in peace and may his soul find eternal solace in the arms of God and be surrounded by his parents and the many family members that have predeceased him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
