With Sorrow, we announce the death of Emery Kada after a long and tenacious battle with liver cancer. He died peacefully on September 20th surrounded by his family. He was 70 years old.
Emery was born on July 24, 1942 in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. At the age of 22, he left communist Hungary to start a new life in North America. Within a week of arriving in Canada, he began to establish himself as a talented musician, artisan, and then owner of Kada Music & Leather. HIs approach to music carried over into other facets of his life- he built his family a home with the same amount of thought and precision as any musical instrument. He was happiest at home, surrounded by forest. He will be forever remembered as a loving father, devoted husband, and a generous, fun-loving friend to all.
He is survived by loving wife, Sylvia (nee Marrese) and his four children, Claudia, Christian, Julia and Angelica, and his mother Anna Csoba Kada. He will be greatly missed by his sister Judy Pantaleo (Anthony) and his brother-in law Joe Marrese (Joan) and nephews Nicholas, Marco, Emery, Angelo, and John.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Ward Funeral Home, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, September 23rd. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24th at St. Margaret Mary Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine to renovate a RSNC clinic room in Emery's name. To do so, visit www.ccnm.edu and click "ways to give".
