It is with profound sadness that our family announces the loss of our beloved patriarch, on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the age of 89. Devoted husband of 65 years to Antonina (nee Alfano). Loving father and father-in-law to Pierina and her husband Jerry Spataro, Joseph and his wife Grace Vento, Mary and her husband Bruno Carbone. Doting Nonno to Josie (Frank), Sal (Rita), Emanule (Diana), Anthony (Diane),Christopher, Emanuel (Andrea), Andrew (Courtney), Matthew, Melissa (John-Paul), Amanda (Scott). Adoring Bisnonno to Alicia, Lucas, Cassandra, Nicholas, Isabella, Jonathan, Juliana, Julia, Anthony and Arianne. It was with great excitement that he awaited the arrival of his newest great-grandchildren, Baby Spataro, Baby Cholewa and Baby Vento.
He was born in Siculiana, Agrigento, Italy on December 4, 1922 to Pietra and Giuseppe Vento. Immigrated to Canada in 1954, where he quickly mastered the trade of plumbing. He was always respected for his integrity, loyalty and kindness. Always a selfless individual, known for putting the needs of others before his own. Fondly remembered for his love of his family, sports and travelling. His absence will be greatly felt by all who loved him.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Monday, from 6-9 p.m., and on Tuesday, from 2-4 p.m. & 6-9 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, 80 Shoreham Drive, Toronto, on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012. Please call the funeral home for the funeral mass time 905- 851-9100. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill (off Yonge St). Memorial donations, in Emanuele’s name, to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
