Ella May Major peacefully passed away May 31, 2023 at the age of 94.

Predeceased by her husband Louis, her parents Edward and Annie Bailey, her sisters, Betty Rowe (Allen) and Ruby Rowsell (Bill). Her brothers, William (Bessie), Eric (Joyce) and Bertram Bailey.

Beloved mother of Don (Karen), Ted and Darrell (Lori) Major. Cherished by her Grand Daughters Lori and Holly and her Great Grandchildren Summer and Locran.

She will be fondly remembered by her Sister- in-law Emily Bailey, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ella was born in Port Union, Newfoundland on June 17, 1928. Later moved with her family to Corner Brook. She left Newfoundland for Toronto in 1951, with her young son, to be with her husband and to seek employment. She often went home to visit family throughout the years.

Ella was a long time employee of A&P Bakery in Toronto until retirement. She loved spending time with her family and close friends, playing cards or watching sports on TV. She was an avid Hockey Fan, never missed a televised game. She also loved enjoyed travelling with family, visiting Mexico and Cuba. She spent many quiet evenings with her dogs, Sam and Joey.

The family would like extend their appreciation to Extendicare, St. Catharines. Special thanks to the Amazing PSW’S on the second floor who showed so much love and compassion for our Mother.

Ella was a woman of strength and dignity.
