1973-2018

Loving wife of Matthew and mother of Sophia, John Henry and step-son Jonah, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Claire was predeceased by her mother Helen and is sorely missed by her father Michael (Donna), brother David (Margaret), sister Louise Kenalty (Frank) and their children Nicole and Ian. Claire was a dedicated teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board and was much loved and admired by colleagues at Monsignor Percy Johnston High School. She was a long time member of the TSU/OECTA executive and a strong advocate for social justice. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 49 George Street, Weston on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.
