It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ekaterini Nikolakakis, who left us peacefully on September 28, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Gerani, Crete, Greece, Ekaterini immigrated to Toronto, Canada, in the mid 1960s, where she built a life rooted in family, hard work, and generosity.

Ekaterini was a devoted wife to Andreas, beloved mother to George and Helen (Joe) and proud grandmother to Iolanda (Simon), Katherine (Rory) and Zachary. She will be remembered for her boundless generosity, humility, selflessness, deep love for family, hardworking spirit, and thoughtful, quiet demeanour that allowed her kindness to speak for itself. For decades, Ekaterini brought joy to her family through her dedication and devotion within the home in the role of wife, mother and grandmother that reflected her love for her family in her desire to ensure everyone was well cared for. This concern for others reached further her than her immediate family and touched many of her extended family and friends. Her kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A woman of strong Greek Orthodox faith, Ekaterini lived her life guided by compassion and quiet strength.

In lieu of flowers, a cash box will be available at the service for donations to be directed toward The Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Cathedral and a children's charity, in loving memory of Ekaterini’s lifelong dedication to bringing happiness to others.
